Ukraine is ahead of European countries in matters of openness in many areas – Transparency International Ukraine

The openness, transparency, and accountability of cities are fundamentally the standards Ukraine will bring with it upon joining the European Union. Ukrainians traditionally have a high level of distrust towards state authorities, which has, in turn, driven Ukraine to outperform its European partners in matters of openness.

Andrii Borovyk, the Executive Director of Transparency International Ukraine, provided this assessment during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine.
“We are significantly ahead of our European partners in various areas. For example, in the judiciary. In Germany, it is almost impossible to find the name of a judge, let alone their photograph and biography,” he noted.
