Ukraine Health Ministry approves flu vaccinations in pharmacies
Ukrainians now have a new, convenient way to get vaccinated against the flu—directly at pharmacies. Citizens can receive the shot immediately after purchasing the vaccine, a step aimed at increasing accessibility.
Deputy Minister of Health, Chief State Sanitary Doctor of Ukraine, Ihor Kuzin announced the initiative during a briefing at Media Center Ukraine.
“Pharmacy-based vaccination is one of the best practices in Europe and is widely used across the EU. Now, patients can purchase a flu vaccine at a pharmacy and get vaccinated on-site. The necessary regulations are already in place, and just recently, the Minister himself received his flu shot at a pharmacy,” Kuzin explained.
Currently, only one pharmacy in Kyiv has the required license to offer this service, but Kuzin noted that the list of participating pharmacies is expected to grow in due course.
