Ukraine has been actively exporting electricity in recent weeks – Ukrenergo
Connecting to the European energy system has enabled commercial electricity flows to operate under the EU’s transparent rules, free from political influence.
Yurii Boiko, member of the NPC Ukrenergo Supervisory Board, announced this during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine
“Regarding parallel operation with the European system — it has been ongoing since 2022 and has proceeded without incident. The volume of electricity flows between Ukraine’s system and the EU remains within the regulatory corridor. We either balance the energy system independently or, if there are commercial flows, the system still remains balanced. If an import volume is agreed upon, the flow balance stays within the permitted corridor. In recent weeks, Ukraine has been actively exporting electricity,” he said.
Boiko added that transparent rules and market adjacency allow the systems to operate in a balanced manner: “The political posturing that we are providing you with a certain amount of electricity is not entirely true. Because you either sell or buy on favorable terms.”
