Ukraine boosts funding for transplant program

The Ukrainian government has increased spending to expand the country’s transplantation capabilities, allocating nearly 100 million hryvnias for advanced equipment, consumables, and technologies at the Health Ministry’s Heart Institute to support extracorporeal procedures for patients with severe heart and lung failure.

Oleg Klots, general manager at the State Enterprise Medical Procurement of Ukraine, announced the funding during a briefing at Media Center Ukraine.

“Almost 100 million hryvnias will be allocated to the Heart Institute, which will contribute to advancing transplantation  in Ukraine,” he added.
