Ukraine allocates UAH 304 million for hepatitis treatment, over half of the medications already delivered
Ukraine has earmarked UAH 304 million in its 2024 budget to fund the treatment of viral hepatitis B and C, with part of the funding reallocated from other areas thanks to budget savings.
Victoriia Tkalenko, Deputy Director General for Supply Management at the State Enterprise “Medical Procurement of Ukraine,” shared the update during a briefing at Media Center Ukraine.
“Currently, more than 50% of medications to treat viral forms of hepatitis have already been distributed to healthcare facilities. In 2025, we have already announced procurement for certain items that are not available in warehouses. For example, we have signed three-year contracts for the purchase of test systems. Therefore, they are already being delivered to Ukrainian warehouses,” Tkalenko said.
