Threat from Belarusian border may escalate in September amid joint drills with russia – Ukrainian Border Guard Service

Ukraine is closely tracking preparations for upcoming joint military exercises between Belarus and russia, with the active phase of the drills expected to take place in September, according to preliminary reports.

Andrii Demchenko, spokesperson for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, made the announcement during a briefing at Media Center Ukraine.

“We are also actively monitoring the announced joint military exercises between Belarus and russia,” Demchenko said. “The risk to our country will certainly rise at the point when active operations begin, particularly because training grounds in Belarus may be utilized and units of the russian army could be involved.”
