This year’s wheat harvest expected to decrease by approximately 2.5 million tons – Dmytro Solomchuk

This year, farmers may harvest less wheat than last year. This is due to the decrease in grain crops, particularly wheat.

Dmytro Solomchuk, People’s Deputy of Ukraine, member of Verkhovna Rada’s Agrarian and Land Policy Committee, made this statement during a briefing at Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform.

“If we look at the trends, there’s a decrease in grain crops, primarily wheat. We will collect approximately 2-2.5 million tons less this year,” said Dmytro Solomchuk.

He also noted that corn crops have decreased this year, but there is an increase in rapeseed, sunflower and soybean crops.
