This year’s spring crop sowing in Ukraine is kicking off with more gusto compared to last year

The spring season sowing in Ukraine is more vigorous compared to last year. The regions of Kherson, Mykolaiv, and Odesa are leading the charge, marking the early stages of the planting campaign. 

That’s according to Denys Marchuk, Deputy Chairman of the Ukrainian Agrarian Council speaking during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform.

Marchuk highlighted that while traditionally the southern regions take the lead, this year, there’s notable activity in the western and northern parts of the country as well. The Poltava region, for instance, is particularly active in sowing sugar beets. Overall, Marchuk emphasized that there’s a heightened sense of intensity and speed in this year’s campaign compared to last year, with all regions showing a commendable level of readiness.
