So far, 70% of the early grain crops from the planned areas have been harvested, amounting to about 30 million tons of grain and leguminous crops.
Denys Marchuk, Deputy Chairman of the Ukrainian Agri Council, announced this during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine.
“According to estimates, we are approaching last year’s figures. Better yields are forecast for corn, oilseeds, soybeans, and sunflowers this year. We can expect to harvest around 76 to 77 million tons this season,” he said.
Marchuk noted that sowing winter crops is ongoing alongside the harvest. Currently, approximately 2.5 million hectares have been sown with new crops.
