Third order this year: SBGS comments on allocation of UAH 23 billion for Defense procurement
The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine has been tasked with overseeing the procurement of defense goods worth UAH 23 billion, marking the third such order issued to the agency this year.
Andrii Demchenko, spokesperson for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, highlighted this development during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine.
“This year, this is the third time procurement authority has been delegated to the State Border Guard Service. The items we acquire will ultimately be transferred to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. These goods will equip our troops on the front lines, enabling them to confront and eliminate the enemy,” Demchenko explained.
Demchenko also provided details on previous allocations for defense procurement. Earlier this year, the SBGS was entrusted with managing UAH 5.8 billion and UAH 31.1 billion in funds for similar purposes.
“Regarding the previous two orders, they amounted to UAH 5.8 billion and UAH 31.1 billion, respectively. These funds have already been utilized to procure weapons and ammunition. The contracts executed by the State Border Guard Service have ensured that these munitions are now actively being used to destroy enemy forces,” Demchenko said. “Now, we have an additional UAH 23 billion allocated for the Defense Forces’ needs, and we are moving forward with its implementation,” he concluded.
