There is no protection at Energoatom facilities – Oleksandr Kharchenko

According to open sources, Energoatom has not built any protective structures at its facilities.

This was stated by Oleksandr Kharchenko, Director of the Energy Industry Research Center, at a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine.

“As I understand it, the dismissal (of Volodymyr Kudrytskyi, head of NPC Ukrenergo – ed.) is the result of lobbying by the Ministry of Energy, which is primarily responsible for the protection of our facilities, and which has not provided any protection at Energoatom facilities. According to open sources, Energoatom has not built a single protective structure. Another company that is supposed to have them, Ukrenergo, is at least building something – there is information about tenders, some things have been done, others not yet, but they are in the process. There’s not even a rumor that Energoatom is building anything. Moreover, we have lost thermal generation. Half of this thermal generation was lost because, among other things, their open switchgear, an absolute analog of Ukrenergo’s high-voltage substations, had no protection. And we have to talk about it,” Kharchenko stated.
