There is no consensus on many decisions in the Verkhovna Rada working group on elections – CHESNO Movement

There is no consensus on many issues in the Verkhovna Rada working group that is working on the upcoming post-war elections.

This was stated by Vita Dumanska, leader of the CHESNO Movement, during a briefing at the Ukraine Media Center.

“Even when the results from each subgroup are presented, the chairpersons immediately point out the issues on which there is no agreement or diametrically opposed positions. There are discussions on political issues and technical decisions. Technical issues are much simpler. However, there are still no discussions on political issues. But the issues that are being pushed aside in the political track are extremely important. For example, the order of elections, which will take place first – presidential or parliamentary. Will the political system change?” she notes.

Vita Dumanska emphasized that a separate important track remains whether political vetting will be carried out.
