There is a growing awareness of the responsibility of Ukrainian society for the country’s recovery – research results
In addition to the higher executive authorities and international partners, ordinary Ukrainian citizens are now seen as playing a key role in Ukraine’s post-war recovery.
This was discussed at the presentation of the results of the survey “Post-War Recovery of Ukraine and Media Consumption” at the Media Center Ukraine.
“Apart from the fact that the vast majority of respondents still assign a key role to the government of Ukraine (49.3%) and Ukraine’s foreign allies (49.1%), the September survey showed an increase in the share of respondents who specifically assign a key role to ordinary Ukrainian citizens (36.8%). What does this tell us? We can assume that there is a growing awareness of the responsibility that rests on us, the Ukrainian society, regarding the recovery,” noted Vladyslava Znoviak, an analyst at the Ilko Kucheriv “Democratic Initiatives” Foundation.
According to her, there is also a certain dynamic with regard to local self-government – respondents attribute a significant role to local governments (37.2%) and consider their contribution to the recovery process to be substantial.
It is worth noting that the survey was conducted by the Ilko Kucheriv “Democratic Initiatives” Foundation in cooperation with the Center for Political Studies on September 7-16 at the request of the Recovery Window media network. A total of 2,000 respondents were interviewed face-to-face on the topic of Ukraine’s recovery and Ukrainians’ media consumption.
