The US no longer imposes sanctions on Russians involved in the abduction of Ukrainian children
The US policy on Russia’s abduction of Ukrainian children is ambiguous. This was stated at the Ukraine Media Center by Kateryna Rashevska, PhD in international law and expert at the Regional Center for Human Rights.
“Unfortunately, we no longer see personal sanctions from the US against Russian officials or those involved in the abduction of Ukrainian children. Their re-education. At the same time, certain efforts continue at the political level (to return Ukrainian children – ed.), in the Senate, we have the NDA, which even provides initial funding for research to locate Ukrainian children, we have Melania Trump’s initiative, with whose assistance there have been two rounds of returning our children.
At the same time, Rashevska said that pressure is being put on the International Criminal Court, there are strange initiatives where senators first talk about Russia as a terrorist country, and then the US recognizes Russia as a strategic partner.
