The state must develop an information policy for local communities to counter russian influence, academics say
russia’s significant informational influence on Ukrainian communities preceded its full-scale invasion. Anatolii Yakovets, PhD in Philology, Associate Professor at the Institute of International Relations, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, stated this during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine.
“The enemy first won the information war in Ukraine, and then began the full-scale invasion because Ukraine has not developed a coherent information policy within its communities. Achieving this is precisely the task for both the state and civil society,” he said.
