The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine presented the photo exhibition “Faces of the Border”: a story about those who defend the country
The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine presented the photo exhibition “Faces of the Border” at the Ukraine Media Center for representatives of foreign diplomatic missions accredited in Ukraine—stories about the people who stand guard over the state. The photos feature servicemen who were the first to face the enemy’s onslaught, endured superhuman strain, suffered severe injuries, yet maintained their inner strength and became the embodiment of fortitude.
“The exhibition highlights not only the agency’s development—its re-equipment and rearmament—but above all, human stories. This is a story about those who, together with the country, have gone through a period of profound change. Before the Russian invasion began, border guards carried out routine tasks along various sections of the state border. The war, however, forced them to adapt quickly: to master new types of weapons, change their approaches to service, and operate in combat conditions. “Since the start of the full-scale invasion, four brigade-level military units and 15 battalion-level units have been formed, which use artillery and possess air defense systems. We are also developing units that use unmanned aerial systems. But first and foremost, the focus should be on the people who operate all these systems,” said Andriy Demchenko, spokesperson for the State Border Guard Service.
An exhibition opened in Kyiv. Plans are in place to present the exhibition in Lviv, Khmelnytskyi, and other cities across Ukraine, and the possibility of showcasing it abroad is also being considered.
