The KyivPride Charity Festival raises 160,000 hryvnias for Ukraine’s defenders
On Sunday, June 9, Kyiv hosted the KyivPride Charity Educational Festival as part of Pride Month, aimed at supporting the rights and visibility of the LGBTQ+ community. During the event, organizers successfully raised 160,000 hryvnias for funds addressing the needs of the Ukrainian military.
Anna Sharyhina, Head of the Board of KyivPride NGO, announced the initiative during a briefing at Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform.
“This year, the festival is not just educational; it’s also a charity event. Before Pride Month, we launched a major Pride collection, raising four million hryvnias for five different funds that meet the needs of the military, veterans, and wounded soldiers. At the festival, we managed to garner 160,000 hryvnias,” Sharyhina stated.
