The IOC is playing a pro-Russian game, and now the whole world has seen it – Vladyslav Heraskevych

Ukrainian athlete and skeleton racer Vladislav Heraskevich said during a briefing at the Ukraine Media Center that while the events with the IOC were unfolding (the athlete’s suspension from participating in the Olympics – ed.), he did not have time to follow the scale of support for his actions in Ukraine and around the world.

“Now I can analyze and say that all corners of the world have seen how the IOC system plays into Russia’s hands. We were able to pull back the curtain on the pro-Russian game being played by the IOC. I am very glad that after this was revealed, many countries did not stand aside but stood up for us. 

Many athletes wrote and spoke about this in interviews,“ added the athlete. 

Vladyslav Heraskevych thanked everyone who supported him. 

”This is an important sign that the sacrifice of these people (those on the helmet – ed.) and the war in Ukraine have not been forgotten. There is a lot of talk about global war fatigue, and as a Ukrainian, it is very unpleasant to see. The scale of the war has not changed; it has only gotten worse. The world must understand that this is the largest war in the last 70 years. It is very important for us that Ukraine is helped in its fight for the right to exist. This is very important to us,” he said.
