“The IOC betrayed them, but I will not betray them”: Geraskevich’s team will go to court to restore justice after the IOC’s decision

“Even though the IOC betrayed them, I will not betray them. We will continue our fight. I am convinced that these athletes have the right to be on this helmet. They had the right to be there during the competition. In the future, they will still be there,” said the athlete.

Yevhen Pronin, former acting president of the Athletics Federation of Ukraine and sports lawyer, added that the Court of Arbitration for Sport had rejected the claim of Ukrainian skeleton racer Vladyslav Heraskevych against the International Olympic Committee in the case of his disqualification from the Olympic Games. Ukraine has the right to a legal response within the next 30 days.

“This court does not have the usual appeal and cassation procedures that we are familiar with. Here, we have the opportunity to appeal to the Federal Court of Switzerland. We have a team of European lawyers who are ready to help. To represent our interests in Swiss jurisdiction, we need specialists who have the appropriate permits and qualifications,” the lawyer said.
