The government refuses to review the resolution on revising gas supply limits to communities – Association of Ukrainian Cities

Local self-government, however effective it may be, cannot independently cope with the challenges brought about by severe frosts and shelling. This was stated by Oleksandr Slobozhan, executive director of the Association of Ukrainian Cities, at the Ukraine Media Center. 

“For more than two weeks, city mayors have been trying to get the government to change a single resolution related to gas limits. The previous limits were calculated based on previous periods when winters were very warm. Today, communities are short of 10 to 40% of their gas volumes,” he said. 

According to him, the Association of Cities requested a review of the limits on January 12.
