The final state examination for grades 9 and 11 won’t be held in 2024 – Ministry of Education

In 2024, 11th-grade graduates will only take the National Multi-subject Test. They, like 9th graders, will not take the 2024 state examination.

Mychailo Wynnyckyj, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine made this announcement during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform. 

“That’s due to several reasons. First of all, if we talk about the 9th grade, the reason is the New Ukrainian School has not fully elaborated the 9th grade study programme. We have to understand that now testing in the 9th grade will be based on the old program that does not give the desired effect, including in terms of security. The main line is making three levels of the final state examination available again, but in 2024 exams will imply passing only a 4th-grade demo and NMT for university admission. The final state examination for grades 9 and 11 won’t be held,” explained the Deputy Minister of Education.
