Tangible results from decentralized gas distribution expected within a few years – Energy Industry Research Center

Decentralization is gaining momentum, with numerous significant projects underway and steady progress being made. In 2024 alone, an additional 152 megawatts of capacity were built and connected to the national grid.

Oleksandr Kharchenko, Director of the Energy Industry Research Center, stated this during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine.

“Tangible results from decentralized gas distribution will likely be felt across the country in two to two and a half years. All projects require time for physical implementation. Equipment procured in 2023 may not become operational until this year,” he noted.

According to Kharchenko, the most vulnerable regions remain the leaders in this effort: “Those who feel the pain most acutely are the ones securing funding and taking action.”
