Students can receive over 20,000 hryvnias in education grants – Ministry of Education
Grants are the third method of financing education in Ukraine, alongside state funding and contracts. Mychailo Wynnyckyj, Deputy Minister for Higher and Adult Education of Ukraine, announced this during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine.
“Grants represent co-financing, where part is paid by the student (an affordable amount) and part by the state. This year, if an applicant scores 150 points on two NMT subjects and enrolls in a contract program, they can receive 17,000 hryvnias toward tuition. Those with 170 points qualify for 20,000 hryvnias,” Wynnyckyj explained.
Meanwhile, applicants with a score of 140 points can still receive 17,000 hryvnias or more if they pursue an occupation deemed critical to the state. Grant amounts increase annually to match inflation. Current grants cover two years of academic study.
