The Red Cross Has Already Reserved USD 2 Million for a Modular-Type Town in Transcarpathia for Displaced Persons from Luhansk Region — Head of Luhansk Oblast Military Administration
Currently, works are underway on a project to build a modular-type town in Transcarpathia for displaced persons from the Luhansk region. Serhii Haidai, Head of Luhansk Oblast Military Administration, stated during the briefing at the Media Center Ukraine — Ukrinform about the stage of the project and who will reside in the town.
“There is a project that will be implemented. The Red Cross has already reserved USD 2 million, and the Transcarpathia Oblast Administration has provided a land bank. A certain selection process will be carried out: the flats will be provided primarily to multiple children families and disabled people. But again, this is temporary housing. For how much, it will depend on how quickly we de-occupy the territory of the Luhansk region, clear mines and continue to carry out works. Not so many such towns will be built, because all the accumulated funds we have in the regional administration and military administrations of the Luhansk region — and this is almost UAH 1,700,000,000 — are reserved for future restoration of the infrastructure facilities and houses in the Luhansk region,” Serhii Haidai said.
