In Mariupol, invaders Offer a Scheme of Compensation for the Lost Property But Do Not Compensate Anyone
Vadym Boichenko, Mayor of Mariupol, told this at Media Center Ukraine — Ukrinform.
“The invaders ask locals to sign papers stating that the building has been destroyed by Ukraine’s Armed Forces; they promise to pay out compensations for the lost homes to Mariupol locals if they sign these papers. Some people agree to sign, but no compensation is forthcoming. After that, the occupation administration requires a certificate of ownership, but one cannot provide it if the building is burned down. They also require certifications from the condominiums, and they cannot be issued in those conditions as well,” Vadym Boichenko said.
According to the mayor, occupiers fear that the de-occupation will start soon and destroy the evidence of their war crimes.
