State Emergency Service to deploy over 6,000 rescuers for Easter safety

During the period of Easter and Memorial Days in Ukraine, thousands of rescuers will be on increased duty. 

This was announced by Roman Tsyren, head of the Emergency Prevention Department of the State Emergency Service (SES), during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine.

“Across the country, 6,000 SES personnel – firefighters and rescue workers – will be on duty during the holidays. About 2,500 units of specialized and other fire and rescue equipment will be used,” he said.

In Kyiv, specifically, 430 rescuers and 100 units of equipment will be involved in the duty shifts. Should the situation escalate, the number of personnel and equipment could be doubled.

“I assure you that the SES is ready to perform its tasks even in these challenging conditions of aggression from the russian federation,” Roman Tsyren emphasized.
