State Emergency Service deploys robotic systems and drones on water, land, and in the air

Over the past year, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine has integrated unmanned systems into nearly all areas of its operations — on water, underwater, on land, in the air, and even in fire.

Ihor Hetalo, Head of the Department for the Organization of Work and Use of Unmanned Systems and Robotics of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, announced this during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine.

“We use a wide arsenal in our work, from multi-rotor UAVs to fixed-wing drones, which allow us to transmit live video feeds to command posts during large-scale fires. Ground-based robots are used for firefighting in situations where there is an additional threat to personnel. Pyrotechnicians use mechanical demining machines, which speed up the demining process in liberated territories,” Hetalo explained.
