Snow may fall in Ukraine as early as February 14 – the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center reports on upcoming weather

Snowfall and a slight rise in temperatures are expected in some regions of Ukraine on February 14-15.

This was reported by Nataliia Ptukha, spokesperson for the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine.

“On February 14-15, and even on February 16, we expect snowfall. It won’t be too intense, but a snow cover is likely to form in most regions. The height of the snow on flat terrain will reach a maximum of 5 cm,” she said.

According to Nataliia Ptukha, temperatures could rise slightly in some Ukrainian regions.

“On February 14 and 15, daytime temperatures may even rise slightly above zero in some regions due to increased cloudiness and some warm air flow from the south,” she added.

However, frosty conditions are expected to return after February 17, with possible changes in weather patterns after February 20.

“As the atmospheric front moves from the north and northwest to the southeast, an anticyclone will take over, bringing back dry but frosty weather from February 17. Overnight lows could fall to -6°C, and in some places as low as -14°C. This wintry cold spell is likely to continue until February 20, after which we may see changes in the synoptic processes,” Ptukha said.
