Six underground schools under construction in Zaporizhia region – Ivan Fedorov

Currently, the construction of six underground schools is underway in Zaporizhia region, and the seventh underground school will begin construction in a few days. Institutions of this type are created in order to provide students with the safest possible conditions for studying.

Ivan Fedorov, Head of Zaporizhia Oblast Military Administration, made this statement during a briefing at Media Center Ukraine.

“Also, at the same time, we are building six underground schools on the territory of Zaporizhia region, and in a few days, we will start the construction of the seventh underground school in order to create the safest possible conditions for schoolchildren. Our goal in the coming months is to ensure that every resident of Zaporizhia region can study offline in an underground school. A similar kind of work is carried out both at universities and at our vocational schools. Therefore, we expect that the next academic year will provide an opportunity to study offline for all categories – both schoolchildren and students,” he said.

In addition, shelters are being repaired and improved to make in person learning possible in educational institutions in the region.

“Also, we are currently following two directions. The first direction is repairing shelters and the improvement of those shelters that were created earlier. Today, at least 20 shelters throughout Zaporizhia region are under repairs. In addition, another 15 shelters that were built earlier are receiving improvements,” added Ivan Fedorov.
