Since Ukraine invasion, 1,085 cultural heritage sites damaged or destroyed

Since the full-scale invasion of Ukraine began, 1,085 cultural heritage sites have been impaired or demolished. These sites span 18 regions across the country. 

Anastasia Bondar, Deputy Minister of Culture and Information Policy for Digital Development, Digital Transformations, and Digitalization, disclosed this information during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine. 

“Between February 24, 2022, and June 25, 2024, 1,085 cultural heritage sites have been destroyed or damaged. Of these, 121 are of national significance, 884 are of local significance, and 80 are newly discovered,” Bondar stated.
