Since the beginning of the year, 22 people have died in the water, according to the State Emergency Service 

Among them is one child. This was announced during a briefing at the Ukraine Media Center by Viktor Vitovetsky, director of the Department of Civil Protection and Preventive Activities of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.

“Since the beginning of the year, 22 people have died in the water, one of them a child. Last year, during the same period, the number of victims was higher – 56 people. Fifteen people were rescued, including four children,” he said. 

Viktor Vitovetsky emphasized that despite the statistics on lives saved, Ukrainians should be as careful as possible on the water, including during the winter.
