Since the beginning of the war, the National Police of Kyiv region has issued about 20 thousand weapons – Andrii Nebytov
The National Police of Kyiv region has handed out about 20 thousand weapons. As of today, it is all accounted for.
It was emphasized by Andrii Nebytov, Head of Kyiv region police, during a briefing at Media Center Ukraine — Ukrinform.
“As of today, it is all accounted for, and we understand where the weapons we distributed are. Moreover, immediately, in early April last year, after the de-occupation, we began to take measures led by the Head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Pavliuk, to keep record and properly store these weapons,” assured Andrii Nebytov
He noted that every municipality with its own volunteer units has weapons storage spaces equipped in compliance with the standards. The members of the territorial community’s volunteer units, those willing to serve, are handed out weapons exclusively for performing their duties.
“During the active phase of the hostilities, while staying in conditions of war in our country, those citizens who perform functions to repel the enemy and protect our state must be armed. Our task is to make sure these weapons avoid falling into criminal hands.”
