Since start of full-scale invasion, Ukrainian readers have turned away from books published in russia – publisher
Today, more than 85-87% of books on the domestic book market are published in Ukraine and in the Ukrainian language.
Oleksandr Krasovytskyy, writer, Editor in Chief of Folio Publishers, made this statement during a briefing at Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform.
“Readers turned their backs on books from the russian federation, although they still find their way to the Ukrainian market, and there is a huge number of pirated copies made in Ukraine. But I believe that today over 85-87% of the books on the market are published in Ukraine and in the Ukrainian language. This issue is dear to me, because there are books by Ukrainian authors published in russian in Ukraine, which are legally published and sold, and there are books, say, in English, which are widely published in Ukraine today, and which are sold normally. That is, today, the Ukrainian market is gradually changing its configuration,” said Oleksandr Krasovytskyy.
