Seven wounded and two people under the rubble: the enemy damaged a hospital in Donetsk region
Russian occupants launched four missile attacks in the Tauride sector over the past day. Ukrainian civilians suffered as a result.
This was stated by Oleksandr Stupun, spokesman for the Joint Press Center of the Tauride Defense Forces at a briefing at the Ukraine-Odesa Media Center.
“A total of 29 combat actions took place over the last day. This suggests that the aggressor has slightly reduced its attacks. We attribute this to the deteriorating weather conditions. But the enemy insidiously attacked a civilian medical facility in the Donetsk region in the town of Selydove with S-300 missiles. The city hospital and a mine were damaged. Seven civilians were injured. According to the State Emergency Service, the rubble is being cleared, as two more people may be under the ruins,” said the spokesman.
Russian terrorists continue to use anti-personnel mines prohibited by international conventions, in particular POM-2, and shoot at medics and evacuation vehicles.
“Over the past day, Russian occupants conducted offensive actions east of Novobakhmutivka and in the vicinity of Pervomaiske, Stepove and Avdiivka. Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 10 attacks there. Fighting also continues in the area of Maryinka: 12 enemy attacks were repelled,” noted Colonel Stupun.
Weather conditions do not favor the occupants’ advance and prevent them from using armored vehicles en masse.
“Currently, the enemy is using a minimal amount of equipment because it has snowed and all the leaves have blown away, and it is no longer possible to quickly disguise tanks and other equipment. That’s why he is trying to attack with small infantry groups in so-called “meat assaults,” said the spokesman.
Stupun emphasized that the enemy prepares such groups for a very short time: two or three days of training, and they go to the front.
“We should not assume that people who go on assaults are afraid. They become afraid after they see the first dead and wounded. But they are gathered again and thrown into assaults. Some of these occupants manage to surrender, which saves lives,” summarized the spokesman for the joint press center of the Tauride Defense Forces.
