Seven dead, 53 injured in missile strike on Lviv, including two children
A missile strike on Lviv late on September 4 claimed the lives of seven people, including two children, and left 53 others injured. Search and rescue efforts are still underway in the devastated city.
The grim update was provided by Oleksandr Khorunzhyi, the press officer for the State Emergency Service, during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine.
“At this moment, we can confirm that seven people were killed, including two children. There are 53 injured, with seven of them being children. Our teams have managed to rescue 12 individuals, and the search and rescue operations are ongoing,” Khorunzhyi reported.
He also noted that the mayor’s office in Lviv has documented damage to 45 residential buildings, including both apartment complexes and private homes. Khorunzhyi further stated that all fires sparked by the attack have been extinguished.
In response to the crisis, the State Emergency Service has deployed 140 rescuers and more than 30 units of essential and specialized equipment to manage the aftermath of the assault on Lviv.
