SES urges fire safety precautions as heating season approaches
With colder weather on the horizon, Ukraine’s State Emergency Service (SES) is urging citizens to take necessary fire safety precautions when using common heating equipment.
The reminder was issued during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine.
“Some people start heating their homes earlier, others later. But whether you’re using electric heaters, furnaces, wood-burning stoves, or gas boilers, it’s critical that these devices are inspected before use,” said Oleksandr Chekryhin, Director of the Emergency Prevention Department at SES. “I can’t stress enough the need to read the instructions beforehand—know where and how it should be used, and be aware of its technical specifications.”
Chekryhin also highlighted the importance of ensuring heating devices have no mechanical damages.
