School medical checkup takes just 20 minutes, says family doctor

To prevent overcrowding in clinics and ensure that all children complete their required back-to-school health assessments on time, doctors recommend a simple system. Parents should schedule their child’s annual checkup for their birthday month. Before the appointment, parents will receive a reminder from their clinic nurse about the visit.

This information was shared by Nataliia Borysenko, a family doctor, during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine.

“Parents typically react very positively to this practice because the medical exam can be done without waiting in long lines. It also allows us to adjust any treatments if we discover a health issue. If there are no complications, completing the official school medical form takes just 20 minutes,” Borysenko said.
