russians resort to aircraft to compensate for shortage of ships at sea
Currently, the enemy is using various types of aircraft – from helicopters to airplanes – to compensate for the lack of ships at sea.
Dmytro Pletenchuk, Head of the Center for Strategic Communications of Defense Forces of the South, made this statement during a briefing at Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform.
“They are trying to use their aircraft to compensate for the lack of ships at sea – this also applies to patrolling the water area, monitoring civil navigation, escorting ships and vessels. The same applies to the coastline. That is, here they are using various types of equipment – starting from helicopters, Be-12 aircraft, which have a low speed, and ending with Su and MiG jets. Therefore, yes, they are trying to conduct reconnaissance in conditions where they have been denied the use of such tools as A-50 planes and reconnaissance ships. Therefore, the airspace is saturated with quite a lot of such aircraft,” Dmytro Pletenchuk explained.
In addition, he specified that the enemy will compensate for the lack of ships with mobile launchers.
