russian strikes on Ukraine’s port infrastructure, including facilities in Odesa and along the Danube River, have severely curtailed the country’s agricultural export capacity, dealing a major blow to the sector.

Denys Marchuk, deputy chairman of the Ukrainian Agri Council, highlighted the damage in comments to the Media Center Ukraine. 

“Strikes on port infrastructure, particularly the ports of Odesa and the Danube, have directly impacted export volumes,” Marchuk said. “We are seeing figures that are 47% lower than last year. To date, 16 million tons of products have been exported, compared with 6 million tons more at the same point last year.”
