russia unlikely to amend its constitution that claims five Ukrainian regions – analyst
In talks with the United States, moscow will likely focus on securing a formula to lift sanctions, seen as vital for its economic survival, and on retaining control of Ukrainian territory along the current front line, according to Vadym Denysenko, head of the Dilova Stolytsia Analytical Center.

“However, since the leaks when Witkoff said he was ready to give Donetsk and Luhansk regions to russia in exchange for russian troops withdrawing from Sumy, Kherson, and Zaporizhia regions, most likely the U.S. position will be that the border is the front line,” he noted. “Under any circumstances, neither Ukraine nor russia will amend their constitutions. All the occupied territories are listed in our Constitution as part of Ukraine, while russia has incorporated our five regions into its constitution.”
