russia steps up attacks along Ukraine’s northern border – Border Guard Service

russian forces have intensified shelling along Ukraine’s northern border, attempting to breach defenses in parts of the Sumy and Kharkiv regions, according to the State Border Guard Service.

“The greatest threat we are currently facing is the shelling of border areas in the Chernihiv, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions,” said Andrii Demchenko, spokesperson for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine during a briefing at Media Center Ukraine. “Recently, the number of attacks has been increasing. The enemy is using both artillery and drones.”

Demchenko noted that civilians living near the border continue to endure the heaviest toll from the escalating attacks.
