Russia’s military operation in the Baltic states will not succeed – the “Delovaya Stolitsa” think tank

Analysts do not share a common view on whether Russia will launch military operations in the Baltic states. Those who believe war will break out argue that Russia has passed a law allowing it to launch military operations on the territory of other countries if those countries arrest Russians, that China supports such an intervention, and that to declare the destruction of NATO, it would be enough to capture Narva. Vadym Denysenko, head of the “Business Capital” analytical center, spoke about this at the Ukraine Media Center.

“These arguments aren’t very realistic, because the passage of the law is an attempt by the Kremlin to exert pressure in an effort to prevent the halt of oil transit. There is also no understanding of what European countries would do in the event of an attack on the Baltic region. Establishing a foothold in Narva is a foothold for a war of position,” the expert notes.

At the same time, Vadym Denysenko notes that 60% of Russia’s maritime exports go to the Baltic states.
