Russia has completely removed the Ukrainian language from educational standards in TOT

Since the beginning of the occupation of Crimea, less than 1% of children have been taught in Ukrainian. Currently, Ukrainian is completely banned. This was stated by Tetiana Lychko, a documentarian at the Almenda Center for Human Rights, during a briefing at the Ukraine Media Center.

“At the end of 2025, on December 15, Russia made changes to the curriculum, completely removing the Ukrainian language from educational standards. This is a violation of children’s right to learn their native language,” she said.
