russia forces over 46,000 Ukrainians into military service from occupied territories
russia continues to forcibly draft men from occupied Ukrainian regions to join its armed forces, according to Ukrainian officials.
Dmytro Usov, brigadier general and secretary of the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War of Ukraine, provided the figures during the Third International Conference Crimea Global.
“From 2022 to 2025, russia forcibly mobilized more than 46,000 people from the occupied territories of Ukraine. This is the number that is fighting against us. More than 5,000 citizens from the Donetsk region, more than 4,500 from the Luhansk region, more than 35,000 citizens from Crimea, 560 people from the Zaporizhia Oblast, and 478 people from the Kherson region. These figures have been confirmed by the russian side.”
