Respiratory virus activity in Ukraine down 16% compared to last season – Ukraine’s Public Health Center

Since the start of the epidemic season, approximately 2.5 million people in Ukraine have contracted acute respiratory illnesses—nearly 16% fewer cases than during the previous season.

Oleksii Danylenko, deputy director general of the Public Health Center at Ukraine’s Ministry of Health, shared these figures during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine.

“If we look at the data for the current epidemic season, which began on September 30, around 2.5 million people have fallen ill so far. But this number shouldn’t alarm anyone, as last season’s figures were even higher,” he said. “In other words, our current incidence rate is lower than last year’s—specifically, nearly 16% lower than during the last epidemic season.”
