Recovery Window Network launches mutual assistance platform “One to Another”
The Recovery Window Network – an alliance of media outlets, civil society organizations, and think tanks – has introduced a new mutual assistance service on its website titled “One to Another”. The platform offers free services exclusively to member organizations.
The launch was announced during a presentation at Media Center Ukraine.
According to Anhelina Tiokhta, head of communications at Recovery Window, the concept behind the platform draws inspiration from the idea of “suspended coffee” (caffè sospeso): those with resources – be it expertise, technology, or equipment – offer them to others who may need support, entirely free of charge.
“One to Another” functions as a internal bulletin board where services are listed specifically for network members. Access to contact information is restricted to participants within the Recovery Window Network, which currently includes 130 media outlets and NGOs. However, the opportunity to contribute is open not only to existing members but also to businesses and media organizations with sufficient capacity to support others.
The platform categorizes offerings into five service areas, allowing users to filter by city. Many of the listed services are available online, making them accessible regardless of physical location.
At present, the platform features at least 20 active listings, with an additional 5 to 10 services being added daily. Each submission is vetted to ensure its relevance and usefulness.
Nataliia Tuiahina, head of the English-language Department at Rubryka Solutions Media, emphasized that “One to Another” fosters a spirit of solidarity while also creating practical opportunities for organizations facing daily operational challenges. She highlighted the platform’s potential to enable the exchange of experience and resources in situations where financial limitations hinder the growth of meaningful initiatives.
“This is not just a conversation about ephemeral solidarity – this is a real mechanism through which partners can offer something that might seem ordinary to them, like access to an office or the support of a photojournalist. For others, these are crucial needs – often the missing pieces required for a project to succeed. That’s why we see this service as a powerful networking tool. A resource is not always money. And especially in times when funding is unavailable and we face new challenges daily, we still possess something invaluable: our experience. That can never be taken away, and it’s a resource we can always share,” she said.
