Public Health Center plans hepatitis B vaccination campaign for military personnel
Military personnel are currently at high risk of contracting hepatitis B. To address this, the Public Health Center is preparing to launch a vaccination initiative for military personnel. Iryna Skrypka, specialist in the management and prevention of viral hepatitis and opioid dependence at the Public Health Center, announced this during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine.
“We’ve received numerous requests from brigades and chief medical officers (for vaccinating military personnel – ed.). This year, we’ll work to secure adult vaccines and allocate them specifically for military needs,” Skrypka stated.
Meanwhile, Oleksandr Zaika, Head of the Department for Infectious Disease Prevention and Immunization of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, noted that the MoH has established a platform for potential donors. The Ministry has already identified a donor for adult hepatitis B vaccines and is currently finalizing logistics.
