Providing Ukraine with Tomahawk missiles could help cripple the russian economy

While US sanctions against russia will have significant long-term consequences for russian economy, they are unlikely to be a crippling factor on their own.

Vadym Denysenko, head of the Dilova Stolytsia analytical center, provided this assessment during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine.

“US sanctions could lead to a reduction in russia’s oil profits from 10-15% to 40-45% within a one-year period. Is this fatal for the russian economy? It will be painful, but not fatal. What could hypothetically help collapse the Russian economy? The hypothetical transfer of Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine, which could hypothetically destroy four of russia’s oil ports,” he said.

Denysenko noted that russia possesses a number of factors that will allow it to continue financing its war efforts.
