“Proud to Be Ukrainian” – 66% of citizens in Ukraine and 52% abroad, survey reveals

For most Ukrainian citizens, being Ukrainian means fulfilling civic duties, supporting the Armed Forces, respecting the law and paying taxes. 66% of citizens in Ukraine and 52% abroad take pride in their Ukrainian identity. These are the key findings from the Civil Network OPORA study which was presented at the Media Center Ukraine.

“Over 85% of Ukrainians in Ukraine and more than 87% of Ukrainians abroad view helping others as a key unifying factor. Despite stereotypes, it was also found that deprivation is not a widespread phenomenon among our citizens,” said Anastasiia Romaniuk, an analyst at the Civic Network OPORA.

The conceptual framework of the study was developed by OPORA’s research team, while the polling was carried out by the Rating Sociological Group. The survey polled 2,400 respondents with 2,200 Ukrainian
