Problems with fertilizing fields will lead to a 20-25% increase in product prices, according to farmers

Ukrainian farmers are unable to fully fertilize their fields before the spring sowing season. This was stated by Denys Marchuk, deputy head of the All-Ukrainian Agrarian Council, during a briefing at the Ukraine Media Center.

“The preparatory season for sowing may be problematic. Currently, some mineral fertilizers are banned because they are classified as explosive and cannot be transported by sea. The Farmers’ Association has appealed to the Ministry of Economy and the Navy to resolve this issue and allow ammonium nitrate to be transported by sea, as it poses no threat. As of now, these permits have not yet been issued. Therefore, negotiations are underway to ensure that it can be imported in the fall,” said the expert.

The military conflict in the Middle East will lead to an increase in the price of mineral fertilizers. This alone will lead to a 20-25% increase in the price of products.
